Tri Axle Dump Truck Driver - Overview
Wolf Lake Construction (2003) Inc. in Sudbury is hiring a Tri Axle Dump Truck Driver. The Truck Operator is responsible for the safe and professional operation of a tri axle dump truck to assist with road construction and property management. Activities include hauling aggregates (sand or snow), assisting with winter snow removal in commercial parking lots, and spring sweeping of community roadways as part of our Commercial Sweeping Crew.

Activities
Proficient operation of tri axle dump trucks.
Transporting and dumping loose materials such as snow, sand and gravel to assigned areas.
Inspecting material to ensure it has been loaded correctly and is secure.
Inspecting truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, water and all fluids, and performing pre and post-trip inspections.
Applying knowledge of road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements.
Performing routine cleaning and daily maintenance to ensure smooth equipment operation (fuelling, lubricating equipment).
Repairing any errors, defects or malfunctioning that may come up while operating the machinery. Should report to Supervisor in case of any serious damage.
Record keeping – timesheets, circle checks, work orders, safety records, logbooks, etc.
Conducting work in accordance with Ontario Health & Safety requirements.
Promoting, executing and adhering to the company’s safety program, and encouraging all employees to adopt safety as a culture.
Demonstrated professionalism: addressing clients’ questions, comments, and concerns, or referring clients to the Supervisor as appropriate.
Participating as a vital team member and working as part of a team. Should contribute to the success of the organization by exchanging information and assisting in problem-solving.
Be prepared to assist crews with physical tasks when required, including shovelling or sweeping.
Work Conditions
Must be available to work winter snow hours and long shifts. We clean parking lots at night in order to have businesses running by 7:00 AM.
MUST enjoy challenges and have the ability to adapt to the unpredictability of snow and winter conditions.
May include occasional out-of-town work (spring sweeping).
Must have the physical ability to handle prolonged sitting, jostling in the cab and getting in and out of equipment – good eye/hand coordination.
Required Skills & Attributes
Possess a Valid DZ or AZ driving license.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Clean drivers abstract.
Experience operating/driving a tri axle dump truck.
Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
Preference will be given to individuals with three years or more years of hauling experience.
Reliable, punctual, possess a positive attitude, and a team player.
Ability to work extended hours, and should have access to a mobile phone and own transportation.
Managing assigned tasks efficiently, effectively and under heavy workload/time constraints.
Specific Skills Required
Mechanical aptitude: responsible for carrying out pre-trip inspections and topping up fluid, fuel etc.
Physical ability to handle prolonged sitting, jostling in the cab and getting in and out of equipment – Good eye/hand coordination.
Ability to prioritize work in order to meet tight deadlines.
Good knowledge of the construction industry and the community.
